According to Article 25 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), States Parties are required to provide:
- the same range, quality and standard of free or affordable health care and programmes for all people;
- all health services needed by people with disabilities specifically because of their disabilities (including early identification and intervention, as appropriate);
- services located as closely as possible to people’s own communities.
